How to play

This musical Antakshari competition encourages the contestants to not only exhibit their musical abilities, but is also a test of their memory skills and on-the spot thinking. Get ready to give the traditional family game a new twist with Viva. It’s time to sharpen your musical IQ!

  • Participant/s : 3 in each group
  • Group VI : Grades 8, 9 and 10
  • Group VII : Grades 11 and 12
  • Fees: Rs. 300/- per event

Rules

Round 1- Word Round

  • A particular word given by the anchor must be part of the first two lines or the verse of the song.
  • For each correct song the team gets +10 and for the wrong song – 5 marks will be deducted.
  • Time limit for each team is 5 seconds.

Round 2- Jumbled round (BUZZER ROUND)

  • Anchor will jumble the words of the song and then the team has to identify and sing the song correctly.
  • For each correct song team wins +10 and loses – 5 marks of the wrong song.
  • Time limit for each team is 5 seconds.

Round 3- Pehchaan kaun (BUZZER ROUND)

  • Each team will be given the name of a couple/pair and they have to sing any song from their movie.
  • The team gets +10 marks for every correct song and loses - 5 marks of every wrong song.
  • Time limit for each team is 5 seconds.

Round 4-Mukhda-Antara round (BUZZER ROUND)

  • Anchor will give each team a mukhda (the first verse or stanza) or an antara (any one of the rest of the verses/stanzas of the song) and the rest of the teams have to sing the other part of the same song.

    NOTE - If a team is given a mukhda, then they have to sing the antara of the same song and vice versa.
  • For singing the correct song the team gets +10 and - 5 marks for every wrong song.
  • Time limit for each team is 5 seconds.
